DC charge times above 80% include taper (reduced charging speed). Public AC 22kW is capped by Tesla's 11kW onboard charger.
The tool multiplies battery capacity by the percentage being added, then divides by each charger's effective power. It caps AC charging at the car's onboard-charger limit and applies a simplified taper to rapid charging.
Real sessions also include temperature, battery conditioning, charger sharing and conversion losses, so use the result as a planning range rather than a promised completion time.

Charging a Tesla from a standard UK 3-pin plug (2.3 kW) takes approximately 20–33 hours from 10% to 80% depending on battery size. This is the slowest option, best suited for overnight top-ups.
A 7.4 kW home wall connector charges a Tesla from 10% to 80% in about 6–8 hours depending on battery size. This comfortably charges overnight.
A Tesla Supercharger V3 (250 kW) can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 20–30 minutes. Charging slows above 80%, so 80% is the sweet spot for speed.
DC fast charging slows above 80% to protect battery health. The last 20% can take almost as long as the first 70%. Tesla recommends daily charging to 80%.
